Floating Lantern Production House was founded in 2007 by Filmmaker Erik Thienes. He had spent the previous decade as an Emmy Award winning Field Photographer, Editor, Satellite Truck Operator, & Photojournalist for CBS in Honolulu & ABC in San Diego. Over the years, Floating Lantern Production House has done commercial work for Volvo, Architects, Designers, Award Winning Builders, Cabinet Makers, Musicians, Painters, & Sculptors. The Production House’s Artist Feature Films have been shown in Galleries & Theaters in New York, California, New Mexico, Texas, & Arizona. Beyond completing the 7 year in the making documentary ‘Emerging Form The Garden of Thorns’, there have been two other notable projects from the past year. In November of 2018, Erik Thienes was Director of Photography for Elizabeth Turk’s 1,000 participant art installation “Shoreline Project” in conjunction with Laguna Art Museum in Laguna Beach, California. The other project is a film that is being played for one year at Elizabeth Turk’s “Tipping Points” installation at Catalina Island Museum in Avalon, California.
